ABOUT
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
my pricing is not complicated at all! im resonable. Each event is different. each travel destination is different. so before I price an event I look at all those factors to give a fair bid. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
i consult with each customer regarding playlists and their preferences for music.i make sure that i have all the music my customer wants to hear or dance to. i like to be well prepared at any event i dj, so having my customers main playlist is a must!!! I am always available for any questions or updates. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am associated with many djs in the u.s. And we always communicate on the latest info in this field. - How did you get started doing this type of work?
College roommate was a dj and we started doing campus parties together for extra money while in school. I also love listening to music. i work full time monday thru friday. and i have the time on weekends to do events and i already had a lot of music equipment because it has been my hobby for years and its something i love!! if i could do it full time, this would be my job!!! - What types of customers have you worked with?
All types of parties, reunions, anniversaries, tailgating, cookouts, balls, wedding receptions, showers etc. all types of music from country, top 40, rap, hip hop, oldies, reggae and latin. - Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Class Reunion celebration that was set up nicely. Venue, food etc. Everyone was having a really great time and time was passing fast and they asked me to stay an extra hour and I continued with no problem and they partied till the lights came on!! - What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure the dj has all of the music you want and make sure they are willing to dj longer than planned if necessary. Microphones and some lights is a plus too! - What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
customers should really think over what is involved with djing an event. the travel, set up, music preferences, sound equipment, mics, lights, and many more. ensure that the dj has quality equipment and travels to the destination in reliable transportation. this will give you knowledge on how the bidding works. some bids are high but the reasons listed above is why. a real low bid will have consequences with sound, equipment, music and travel so beware!
